Small horizontal-flow coolers are installed in windows to cool a room or section of a home. These portable evaporative coolers work well in moderate climates, but may not be able to cool a room adequately in hot climates.

Unlike air conditioners, evaporative coolers don't need refrigerants to work. The hot air is pushed through the system, where it will eventually reach a series of water-soaked cooling pads. These pads cool the air, which is then sent back out into the room using fans.

Open the Water Fill Door located on the side of the unit. The Water Level Indicator is located at the front of the unit. Refill the water tank when water level is low.
